We decided it would be kind of cool to get to bless Boden on Father's Day (looking back we actually blessed Rowan on Father's Day too!) since it is a special day in which a dad gets to give a blessing to his baby, and since my mom was still in town we decided to make it happen.
Boden wore the same outfit that Grant was blessed in almost 35 years ago! I was worried he was going to have gotten too big for it, but it still fit well enough ;)
Grant gave a beautiful blessing in which he blessed him with joy and happiness in his life, to always hold on to truth and be prudent, to one day be sealed to a loving family of his own, and assured him that he is a perfect addition to our little eternal family. In addition to Grant, TJ Finlayson, Chris Durtsche, and Lee Roundy were the others who stood in the circle to bless him.
Even though we didn't have our dads there to help bless him, I was glad my mom was able to be a part of the experience. Thanks for making the trek across the world (and thanks to my dad for sharing her)
And in true Rowan fashion...they are cuddling heads :)
We "celebrated" Father's Day by going to church, followed by an afternoon nap (because I was a bad wife and still let Grant get up with Rowan at 5:30am so I could sleep more-in my defense, I do nurse a newborn in the middle of the night, but I still felt bad about it), and then packed a picnic and ate dinner at the beach.
Happy Father's Day Grant!!! I was talking with my mom today about how you aren't a real dad until you have about a dozen pictures that look like this....
So grateful for this patient, fun, and loving man...he really is the best. Our boys are pretty lucky to call him "Dad"!
