Rowan turned TWO which means time continues to move too fast and I need to document some of what he's up to these days!
In the last year, Rowan has been a little "delayed" with speech. They decided to have him evaluated around 19 months which only showed that he was right on target/ahead of schedule with everything except actual verbal speech, so decided they weren't worried and we'd continue to wait. In the last month or so he has started talking so much more and it is so fun to hear the new words that he picks up on a daily basis! Some of his favorite words are truck, trash, water (both when he wants to drink it and when he wants to play in it), beach, etc. He counts really well but only uses the numbers 8 and 9 which is hilarious, "9, 8, 9, 8, 9!" but he points to things as he "counts" them. He is totally obsessed with trucks, playing with them, watching them, etc. He says "dump truck", "digger", "trash truck" and makes a siren noise for fire trucks. He is crazy active and so much fun. He LOVES to jump and can jump up and down on two feet and has also started jumping off of things. He swims in the ocean and lays down so only his head is sticking out the top and pretends to be a turtle. Rowan is very compassionate and gets very concerned if anyone around him gets hurt. He will tun over and say "ahh" and want to kiss it better if he can. He continues to be a super early riser, waking up around 5:30 am every day! He loves Grant and I pretty equally and is happy with either of us, which I love. He enjoys playing with other kids, but mostly older ones who don't steal his toys because he is definitely not good at sharing yet. Some of his favorite foods include mac n cheese, broccoli, any kind of candy, peanut butter and jelly, and especially SHRIMP!
We love this little guy of ours so much and are blessed to be his parents. Just judging from the few days we've had with him since he's turned 2, I think we're in for a few new challenges this year, but he makes it all worth it! He's adorable, sweet, and keeps us laughing on a daily basis (even when we shouldn't). Thanks for the good times Rowan, we love you!
And even though we waited to officially celebrate until later, I couldn't let the day go by unrecognized. It was my first day home alone with both boys so I was pretty proud of myself for doing anything! I decorated his chair the night before (a tradition in my family-which was fully undecorated by Rowan by mid morning)...
And then we made his favorite breakfast...pancakes that he could dip in syrup :)
Yay for being TWO!
We opened presents with Grandma and Grandpa on facetime...
And then had dinner with the Remedios' and brownies for dessert. Rowan is awesome at blowing out candles. I'm pretty sure he wishes he could do it every night!
