I am grateful to have a family who I know I can count on. I was a little nervous about adding a newborn to the family with a 2-year-old, and even though we live across the world, my mom offered to come out and help. I figured if she was going to come this far, we may as well utilize her for as long as possible, so we got her for 3 weeks! It was up for debate for awhile whether my dad would come with her, but he decided to teach summer school, so my mom thought it would be nice to invite Karleigh out, since she was the only one in the family who hadn't been to visit yet! It was crazy timing for her with moving from Vermont to Arizona, but they made it work and I was so glad. She hadn't seen Rowan since he was 5 months old!
I told her to not count on doing much (because I remember going out with Rowan being a big deal), but I felt really good and Boden has been awesome, so we were actually able to go out and see a lot while she was here. She opted not to stay the entire 3 weeks my mom is here, so we had to say bye a few days ago.
It is fun to see Rowan really get to know and remember people now. He calls Grandma "Mimi" and called Karleigh "Chi Chi" (we tried to get him to say Karleigh or KK and that's what he came up with). It was pretty cute.
Here is just some of the fun we have been having!
Zanpa lighthouse, Cookie factory and Maeda Flats
We all barely fit in our car, so with all the beach stuff, etc there really wasn't room for all of us. So...Grant and Karleigh cruised the Vespa around all day. I was actually a little jealous.
The weather was a little questionable the first few days..but the last 4 days she was here were gorgeous!
Thought it appropriate to do another silhouette picture with Boden now out of my belly :) Crazy how much can change in 3 weeks!
The one thing that Karleigh really wanted to do while she was here was feed the monkeys...so we made sure to hit that up first. We went on a drizzly overcast day which was perfect!
Sunday afternoon stroll on Sea Glass beach (where she found a TON of sea glass)
Her last night, we ate dinner on the sea wall which ended with this breathtaking sunset! I miss living on the west coast. Our sunrises are pretty but don't compare to this.
And in between trips, we did a lot of hanging out with the boys...which was perfect
Cocok pedicures!
And Gala for some pretty views, gift shop and make your own salt :)
What a fabulous time we had with her. It was almost more sad saying bye knowing that Rowan was going to miss her too. Now that Karleigh is gone, Rowan continues to ask where she is, but then we ask him where she went, and he says "Chi Chi bye bye" and then makes an airplane noise. SO cute. We miss you Chi Chi :)
