Grant had 3 days off for the MLK holiday. We didn't have plans to travel anywhere, but the weather was GORGEOUS, so we decided to make Saturday a beach day. I would call this beach day near perfect. It was warm (we were not cold at all!), we got Robertos burritos to eat there, the Phillips met us and played for a little while, and the kids had SO much fun.
We actually had so much fun that we decided to do the exact same thing on Monday, pretty much an exact repeat day (burritos included). The kids dug a "hot tub" and loved playing in it.
The cliffs at this beach are beautiful and I think add some protection from what is sometimes a cool breeze at the beach which contributed to the beautiful day. There's a fun park near the parking lot and everything was perfect!
Shrimp burrito (Rowan's request) and a California burrito. Delicious combo.

We took the boogie board for the kids to play on (not really in the water because the water is definitely freezing) but for Grant to get a workout and pull them around!
They loved it!
And then Grant did some skim boarding (and didn't kill himself!) yay!
Love beautiful beach days...can't wait for many many more. Both boys love the beach so much, it really is our happy place. Boden says "beach, beach" pretty much every time he gets in the car. Poor kid is feeling deprived living 13 miles inland :(
