Something that has been seriously lacking since moving here is our Sunday walks. For the last 4 years (Oceanside and Okinawa) we lived right on the beach and would take a walk most evenings, but especially Sundays. Now we live in a super hilly neighborhood, which is hard to not break a sweat pushing the double jogger, so it's just not as fun and relaxing as it used to be. So last week, we had earlier church and were done at noon, so we came home, took naps and then decided to go take a a walk on the beach at La Jolla.
It was warmer than I had even thought it would be and we got there at the perfect time to walk for a bit before sunset! The tide was super low which just added to the perfection.
Unfortunately the tide pools seemed to have very little in them so we didn't get to see a lot of creatures, but we had fun with rocks and water and sand and sticks...they really weren't too disappointed ;)

These evenings leave me wondering why we don't do this every night! The kids really are beach babies and I love it.
