Mat and Jen visit

We love having visitors, and Mat and Jen were able to come visit again! Mat wasn't able to come last time, so this was his first visit to our new house. The weather here wasn't really cooperating, but luckily they were able to rearrange a little bit to miss the rain, and although it wasn't super warm, we got pretty decent January weather :)
The first night we walked around Balboa Park, got Mexican food (which we ended up eating tacos every day they were here) and then Extraordinary Desserts which Mat had been waiting months for!
The next morning, we decided to walk around Pacific Beach. We started with some delicious smoothies and then walked along the boardwalk and pier. Rowan really loved this "huge metal pelican!" The boys got to dig in the sand for awhile and couldn't have been happier :)
After our morning fun we came home for naps and my personal hair stylist Jen went to work on highlighting my hair. Did I mention how wonderful it is to be close to my stylist again :)
The next day we decided to try something new...visited the oldest mission in California. It was really beautiful, loved the contrast of the white stucco against the bright blue sky. Would have been a really fun place for a photo shoot (maybe another day).
Rowan was really excited to make a wish!
This was the best pic we got out of about 10. Mat said he could now better appreciate any pics that I got of the 2 of them looking good at the same time :)
Inside the chapel. They still hold mass here every Sunday.
After the mission we headed down to Old Town, where I hadn't been in years so it was fun to walk around and look in the shops, smell the fresh tortillas, etc. More wishes for Rowan :)
Our last night, we walked around Del Mar, got some Board and Brew sandwiches, played at the park and watched the sunset. It was perfect! And then of course...we went to Extraordinary Desserts one last time :) Thanks for coming and playing!
