Growing
up, we always went to Apple Hill and cut down our Christmas tree the day
after Thanksgiving. Since being married, we haven't had any great
places to cut them down (or we were too cheap/poor in our early marriage
days), so Lowes kind of became our tradition (although a tradition I
was definitely ok breaking). In September we went to a fall festival at a
cute farm near us and I noticed that they had a Christmas tree farm. I
made a mental note and we planned to go get our tree there on
Thanksgiving weekend. I was SO glad that we did. The farm was cute and
had a great selection...so many trees! And I felt like the prices were
even pretty affordable. The weather was a bit warmer than I expected,
but again, not something I should complain about :)
We picked up a saw and tree cart and then headed out to find the perfect tree!
The
boys LOVED running through the rows of trees and playing hide and seek.
Boden got a little too into it towards the end as we were trying to
leave.
Rowan found some branches that had been cut and thought it was so fun
to "camoflauge" into the trees! He did a pretty good job with it :)
And Dylan, like he normally is, was a great little companion.
Our first Christmas tree that we have gotten to cut down together as a family!
TIMBER!!
My strong boys!
I
LOVE the tree that we picked out, it is seriously gorgeous. The color
is great, the needles don't drop fast, we had to cut a few inches to fit
in the house, it is straight with a straight strong top of the star and
I have a great memory to go with it. I can't wait to find another
perfect tree here next year.
