Well we decided to take an afternoon off from working on the house and go for a hike with some friends. We drove about 20 minutes southeast from our house to this nature preserve with trails and just hiked around for awhile (about 4 miles). The first outlook spot was overlooking the Kentucky River, kind of gross looking water but everything else was beautiful.

While we waited for Jeff and Melea to take the stroller back to the car (because we soon realized that the path was not suitable for strollers) we took a little detour off the path and Travis and Grant had some fun doing circus tricks on a log we found!

Our last stop was a little area with some water running which was beautiful. The cicadas were out in full force making all sorts of crazy noises which sounded sort of like a rainforest CD. It was kind of cool but gross thinking it was bugs making the noise!

All in all we had a great day. The weather was perfect (not humid for a change). Thanks to IHC for the backpack with the camel pak in it for our endless water supply :)
Eeeew I hate cicadas. Make sure you check for ticks.
