MM-Wan Lopez

Today's Memory Monday is dedicated to our chameleon Wan Lopez. We got him in February 2006 and decided that we needed to sell him before coming to Kentucky. We didn't think he would enjoy the drive in the back of a U-Haul for 3 days and we didn't have a good spot to put him in the new house.

We bought him from someone in California when he was only a couple weeks old. He arrived in a box marked "Live Harmless Reptile" and he was SO cute and tiny.
When he was tiny he didn't mind us holding him, but realized that he was still small enough to "escape" from his cage, and we would find him on other plants in the house (like the palm above).

Watching him eat was definitely the coolest part about him. His huge tongue would stick out and stick on to his food (usually caterpillars) and then he would eat them up.

And finally, here are some pictures with our final day with Wan. We sold him to a good home in Salt Lake, to a girl very knowledgeable and had been excited to get a chameleon but was just waiting for the right one. Bonus: She even liked his name :)

He walked around the car the whole way up to Salt Lake.
He was a fun pet to have, but we're living pet free for awhile now.
