Here are some memorable moments from the class:
-Having to drive to campus at the worst time of day 3-4 nights a week for 4 hours in a freezing cold classroom
-One of the nicest teachers ever, Sally! She was SO sweet and laughed just like my friend Laurie...(which made me miss you Laurie!)
-Sally was required to count and lock up the male and female genitalia parts that we snapped into the mannequins...because they are apparently the most stolen items from the nursing labs...quit thinking now, don't want to know what people do with them.
-Our clinical days helped me realize that I definitely want to go on in my nursing career...not because it was a great experience, but because it was NOT fun and made me realize I can't stop now if I want to pursue a career in the medical field.
-I got a free dinner from the 1 guy in my class for doing "perineal care" on our patient at clinical last Saturday because he really didn't want to do it.
-Make sure to change position at least every 2 hours if you're stuck in bed...because bed sores can look grosser than you would ever imagine.
-It gave me the confidence to go back to school...rocked all the tests! (I could have gotten a 16% on the final and still passed-luckily I ended with a 99%-yeah, I'm still mad about the 1-dang chronic bronchitis question!)
As busy as I was and as boring as the class could be at times, I will miss them...at least a little.
Congrats!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Congrats. I definitely have a lot of respect for CNA's too. They need to get paid more. :) I think it's a great idea to be a CNA first before nursing school. You are almost there. I kind of miss school. You will be done before you know it. It's fun to hear your updates.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Taryn! You are awesome and will make a fabulous RN.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteWay to go! We were wondering why we hadn't heard from you much lately.
ReplyDeleteWay to still be a genius even after being out of school for a few years. Congrats!
