Happy Halloween from under the sea

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! We celebrated Halloween a few days early this year because Rowan and I are hoping to be traveling on Halloween day.
I am usually a procrastinator when it comes to Halloween costumes. I end up with a great idea, but not until it's too late to execute. So, since I had a little guy to dress up this year and I knew that it might take awhile to get supplies on the island, I decided I needed to be proactive this year. So...I decided on a costume for Rowan and made it happen! I wanted something that we could dress up together as a family, but didn't require Grant and I to be dressed up in order to make the costume work.
Growing up, my mom made our costumes pretty much every year and I was excited to be able to make a costume for my little man. I bought 2 pairs of adult leggings at a Japanese department store and some felt at the 100 yen store, got out my sewing machine and worked some magic. I knew Rowan would be cute but I was still so excited to see how cute he was in it!

 Cutest octopus you'll ever see!
On Monday night we had a little Halloween party with some friends and Rowan did a great job helping me make some mummy dogs :)
In the last week he has become interested in EVERYTHING! The utensil jar provided lots of entertainment. He pulled each thing out, put it in his mouth and threw it on the floor :) Good times.
Rowan was a big hit at the party! And Grant rocked the wet suit. I was pretty excited about how it all came together :)  When I first put the costume on him, he was seriously giddy. He wouldn't stop smiling huge for a long while! It was so cute.

It was the perfect form of entertainment as well. Built in toys!

And when he got tired of playing with the toys, it was a built in pillow!
And then stuffed animal to cuddle with...
Happy Halloween from our little family of 3 :)
