Cruisin Grand firetrucks

Each Friday night during the summer months, Escondido hosts a car show. We had been to it a few times when we lived in Oceanside, and obviously Grant was excited to go back. They post the theme for each week and saw that there was a fire truck and hero theme just prior to 9/11 so we decided to go that night, knowing the kids would love the fire trucks. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but we decided to go check it out. It was awesome! There was a normal car show, but in addition, there was an entire side street full of different kinds of fire trucks (vintage to current). And the best part, we got to go for a ride on one. The boys were in heaven! (and so was I getting to see the joy on their faces). The horses were also a big hit :)
Just before leaving Okinawa, Rowan learned to say and recognize "American flag", so he was quite excited about these large ladder trucks proudly displaying the stars and stripes.
Our fire truck cruise! The kids were are parade ready! They waved to everyone as we drove down the main street. It was adorable.

Another highlight was watching them totally dance and rock out to Proud to be an American. It was hilarious and so cute!
