We were super excited that Karleigh had a fall break and used it to come visit us! Her and Brandon arrived late Friday night and then we started off the weekend right with a trip to the beach (La Jolla shores) followed by Mexican for lunch. It was perfect.
After naptime, they surprised the kids with a little present, a bubble machine, which was sort of a dream come true for both of them!
We did a terrible job taking pictures, but only because we were having too much fun. It had been way too long since we'd gotten to hang out with them. Brandon had to leave Sunday afternoon and his one request before leaving was to eat some good seafood, so we headed back out that night to Pacific Beach Fish Shop (a place Karleigh found online), and it was SO yummy! We had a fish plate and a taco, and the kids had fish n chips. I loved everything! (the drink machine even had yummy crushed ice). We saw that the sun was setting as we approached the restaurant, so we drove down the street to the beach to watch this amazing sunset!
Sunday we relaxed and had fun together and then Monday we did the Annie's Canyon hike, visited with cousins, took a long walk and did some good shopping at Target, and enjoyed some play time with Aunt Karleigh!
Tuesday, Karleigh flew out, so we decided to head out in the morning and have a little fun before taking her to the airport. We hit up the park in Del Mar (because everything is better with an ocean view)...
And then hit up the Fish shop one more time! Karleigh had some mahi mahi off our plate at dinner which was the first time she had liked fish that wasn't battered and fried in a taco. She was so excited about it that she wanted to go back for more. This place didn't disappoint at all the second time either, just as delicious.
We then took a quick walk through Ikea and headed to the airport to drop her off. The weekend went way to fast, but we're excited to live close enough to get to see them way more often! Thanks for making the time to come visit us!
