There are a lot of reasons why we're happy to be back in San Diego, one of them being all the visitors we enjoy! Both my and Grant's parents have been here and Mat and Jen were next in line for a visit! Unfortunately, Mat wasn't able to come because of work at the last minute, but we were grateful to have Jen for a long weekend, it was awesome! The timing was great too since Grant had a couple days off to play with us.
We had a ton of fun, I loved having a walking buddy, and we ate to our heart's content :)
Waiting for Aunt Jen's plane to arrive...
We started the morning off with a stroll through Seaport village...
Then walked along the harbor and to one of our very favorite places, Extraordinary Desserts! We felt like the walk there justified our insane desserts :)
Boden wasn't shy, he dug right in :)
Then we came home for naptime and hair time! We took a quick trip to CosmoProf to get supplies and then I got my hair highlighted and cut for the first time in way too long. I have missed having my personal hair stylist :)
And then we showed her the way to really enjoy smores in the yard...thin oreos and nutella smores
Friday was a beautiful day so we hit up La Jolla Cove for a morning walk and lunch. It was perfect. Rowan told the sea lions to stop pooping because it was stinky though!
That night we had a work function on Pendleton that we had to attend because they were welcoming Grant to the command. We were so lucky to have fun Aunt Jen here to play! We all headed to Pendleton and they played at the beach. It got a little windy and cold at the end but she was a trooper and dug and ate sandy popcorn with them for 2 hours ;)
Saturday morning Grant was working at the Miramar air show, so the 4 of us headed to the farmer's market (which has become an almost weekly tradition for us). We love the train at the park, we take a ride or 2 every time we're there.
That afternoon we headed down to South Park for dinner and then a walk through Balboa Park. Jen had never been to the famous park, so we felt like it was time to introduce her (and check out the other Extraordinary Desserts :) We ate at The Station, a new favorite, because it has this fun area for kids to play as well as a fun outdoor atmosphere and delicious burgers, fries and tater tots!
My favorite picture of the night, a walk over the bridge in Balboa Park
And of course, our final stop...and they had my favorite chocolate croissant bread pudding (and we picked up an extra one for Jen to take to Mat!)
Thanks for the fun visit. We missed you while in Japan and look forward to more visits!
