Friday night, Chik-Fil-A (pretty much our most frequently restaurant these days because of the awesome play place that my kids will play in for literally hours if I let them), was having free kids meals if you dressed up like a superhero. So..the Finlaysons were kind enough to share 2 of their many costumes with my kids (who aren't as into superheros but loved dressing up anyways!)

Raphael and SuperWhy!
Rowan kept yelling, "The power to read!" It's a show that he just started watching a couple weeks ago but obviously really likes now. He was learning some of his letters on the show and I said, "we should make some cards for you to learn all your letters!" and he replied, "no...I'll just watch this show and learn them." haha.
Rowan was surprisingly excited about the Chik-Fil-A cow and lined up to take a picture with him. Boden was a little freaked out :)
I decided that since we were back in the states, it was time to introduce the kids to pumpkin carving. I knew they wouldn't be too participative, but we still had fun and they got to run around with their friends while we made fun faces. Rowan did specify exactly what shape he wanted for each face part on both pumpkins (i.e. triangle and square eyes, a frowny face with teeth, etc). I went against what I wanted to do and made it look exactly how he wanted, which ended up making both of us very happy.
Kids and holidays are so much fun!
