RoBo Half Birthday

Being a summer baby, I grew up celebrating my half birthday since I didn't get to celebrate my July birthday at school. So, I have a fondness for celebrating half birthdays and we're always looking for something to make any day a little extra special. So, last weekend we celebrated Rowan turning 3-1/2 and Boden 1-1/2!

We started at The Habit where they each got half of a cheeseburger. Boden was in a very cuddly mood and tried to cuddle up every time I told them to smile for a picture :)

And then we headed to a dessert place we'd been wanting to try for ice cream sandwiches...and you guessed it, they each got half. They picked out a sprinkle cookie and an m&m cookie, with birthday cake ice cream and sprinkles on the outside. It was delicious!

Rowan at 3-1/2:

Rides his strider bike really well, picks his feet up and cruises. We finally just got a tricycle so he can learn to pedal and hopefully put these two skills together soon.
Favorite movie is "The Lorax"

Talks in the cutest high voice to Boden, like a mom talking to a baby voice, it's adorable

Still obsessed with trucks, especially construction vehicles and a pile of dirt can keep him entertained for hours

Loves working with dad in the garage building different things out of scraps of metal and wood

Picks up on things so quickly. He will come home from church singing new songs every week (even though he openly admits that he doesn't participate in class, haha)

Boden at 18 months:

He is a crazy kid! Constantly on the go, little tornado, gets into everything.

Has the cutest little laugh ever

Adores his brother and wants to do what he does

Stopped nursing this month which he did pretty well with but has been a little bit of an adjustment for both of us. I never anticipated nursing this long, but it really did work for both of it. Some days I wish I hadn't weaned yet, but I felt like the timing was right. 

Says "mama", "dada", "hot", "ooo-rah", "yeah", "no" and says about a million other things we don't understand. This kid will talk and talk. I love it. He seems to understand everything we tell him which is really fun.

Likes to cuddle but not for very long. Gives good hugs and kisses

Goes to bed well at night but struggles to fall asleep on his own at naptime unless he's in the car, etc. He can climb out of his crib and has but doesn't do it regularly

Favorite foods are avocado, Doritos, crackers (wheat thins and Cheez-Its)
