The Friday we got back from vacation, a few friends and I decided to go to the "beach". I had been at the beach the previous 5 weeks in a row so we thought we should continue it for one more week. We decided to go to Matapeake which is a small beach on the Chesapeake, just over the bay bridge. It was about an hour away from home so not a bad drive.
It turned out to be the PERFECT spot for us. It actually reminded me a lot of an Okinawa beach (just not as pretty). But, the water was warm and shallow for a really long time, there was greenery on the beach that actually created really great shade! And this beach even had picnic tables which we got which was amazing for eating lunch. We had so much fun hanging out with friends!
Dylan even took a nap in the stroller so I got to play in the water with the other kids for awhile.
The parking was free and very close. There were bathrooms and a shower to rinse off and it wasn't too busy. I would love to go back

And Rowan found a dead Maryland blue crab at the end of the day. He was sad we couldn't take him home and eat him...I promised we'd go eat crabs again soon! (just not dead ones we find on the beach)
