Before we even moved here I had heard that there was a neighborhood pool we could join for the summer which was a better deal for military. Because we were gone for an entire month I decided not to join for the whole summer, but they had an August only special and I jumped at the chance to spend the last month of summer at the pool, especially with Grant so busy.
So, for the entire month (and a few days at the end of July and beginning of Sept), we spent almost every day at the pool with the exception of Sundays and rainy days. The majority of the time I went from about 4-7 pm, packed dinner and brought PJs to shower and change the kids into before heading home and going right to sleep. it was seriously the perfect setup. It could have only been better if Grant could have joined us more days or we had more friends there, but we saw some friends a few times and met some new friends at the pool as well. Overall though the pool was never busy which was SO nice and we had it almost to ourselves some of the days.
Rowan became a very confident swimmer this summer and Boden was getting the hang of it by the end of the month. They were both much more brave than I would have thought going off the diving board and both did a flip and dives. It was so fun to see them try new things!
And this cutie had a lot of fun splashing around at my side!
Rowan and his preschool friend Abigail
Dinner at the pool was my favorite. The kids were always hungry from swimming and there was no mess at my house!
And one night towards the end of the month, I decided to check happy meals at the pool off our hypothetical bucket list
Pretty sure one of Dylan's very favorite parts of the pool was playing with this little shower. It worked out perfectly though because it was right by the diving boards so kept him occupied while the other kids dove. Loved it. I even got brave and dusted off some of my old diving class skills and did some flips and back dives...I'll pretend the kids were impressed ;)
The pool was even better when dad got to come!
Always wanting snacks!
Tan little bodies
And then there was the snack bar! I also waited til the last week to let them purchase anything from it, but we had fun with some push ups :)
And I think these pictures sum up pretty well the fun we had at the pool this summer! I'm already sad to think we won't get to do it again next year...but we'll be off on our next adventure by August next year!
