Festival of Lights

Although the temple is closed for renovations, we were so happy to hear that the Visitors Center was still hosting the Festival of Lights. Last year after seeing a few displays, we realized that these lights really were top notch. The colors and number of lights on each tree were simply magnificent. There were several areas closed off because of the construction, but they did an amazing job with all of what was decorated. Unfortunately Rowan wasn't feeling 100% but still managed to enjoy the lights. We were lucky that the weather was mild and really quite comfortable to be walking around outside.
We went right as the sun went down which was perfect because we beat the crowds. This allowed us to get good parking and also to be able to walk through the creche display in the visitors center (we didn't feel like waiting in line forever last year). It was really cool as they had displays from several different countries all over the world depicting what they thought the nativity looked like. They were all made out of different materials, etc and the kids were even fascinated by it.
Creches from around the world...
Dylan just stood and stared at this life-sized nativity for several minutes. It was pretty cute.
We will definitely miss this amazing light display at Christmas next year!
