Two and a half....Rowan is growing up (and I want time to freeze for a little while because there are way too many things I'm loving about this age!) I want to remember everything! So, I'm really trying to let go of the bad (let's face it, there are definitely still some 2-year-old tantrums) and soak in the good (because there's a lot of it with this adorable guy!)
-A year ago they were worried about Rowan not talking enough....not he's talking up a storm and it is the cutest thing ever!-Identifies all sorts of trucks (dump truck, trash truck, cement mixer, forklift, crane truck, back hoe, digger, bulldozer, etc). One day we were driving and I said, "Look Rowan, a bulldozer and a digger in one!" He was quick to say, "No mom, backhoe!" haha. How does he already know more than me?! I googled backhoe and sure enough he was right :)
-Not potty trained yet but moving in the right direction. Will pee on the toilet if you put him there and talks constantly about getting chocolate chips for pooping in the potty :)
-Very sweet to Boden almost always. Wants to "hold him" and thinks he's hilarious if he spits up, etc. When Boden is crying, Rowan will sing the "Boden Kai" song to him
-Great at going to bed. Bath, brush teeth, 2 books then he climbs in bed, we say a prayer and he requests that we sing "I love to see the temple" and "Baa baa black sheep" and then either falls asleep or sings to himself for a few minutes before falling asleep. He must have his waterbottle at his bedside and drinks a ton right before bed (might be a problem with nighttime potty training :)
-LOVES to play outside and has started to become obsessed with toys. This is a pretty good thing considering he is able to entertain himself pretty well. He is starting to imagine things like bringing an upside down construction cone over pretending its ice cream and wanting you to eat it, pretending we are different kinds of animals or trucks, etc.
-Does NOT like when things are broken, especially food. We had an incident where we took a piece of pizza out of the whole circle and he completely freaked out and wanted it "fixed". This happens often when granola bars come out broken, a breadstick breaks, etc. These are seriously some of his worst meltdowns :) Good times.
-Getting pretty good at riding his strider bike and razor scooter and will ride laps around the table on our balcony. His favorite is probably still his Power Wheels 4-wheeler though ;)
-Gets so excited to go to nursery at church (I think because he likes playing with the toys :)
-His memory continues to amaze me! I swear he remembers EVERYTHING and will bring up random stuff all the time. I love that he remembers people now, especially all of our family that we visited while we were home.
Rowan is so much fun, very sweet (gets very concerned if you're hurt) and we really are having so much fun with him at this age! We love you Rowan.
