A couple weeks ago, Nicole and I decided we needed to get the kids together to do some exploring. Our boys are 2 months apart and our babies are 2 days apart! I had yet to have been to any of the castle ruins on island, so decided this would be a fun little morning trip. It was an overcast day which wasn't great for the view, but was perfect for the walking. It was so nice not to be sweating :)
It's not a long walk, but a good little hill to get to the top. Rowan and Landon had a great time just running around (and playing with rocks).

There are signs at different areas (which Rowan read to us) which were actually pretty cool, because they show what the castle would have looked like and what it was used for back when it was actually functional. Pretty cool stuff.
Again, the view would have been amazing but was not the best because of the weather, but still pretty cool to look at.
Rowan and Landon loved throwing rocks over the castle walls. Luckily it was just a bunch of trees below...so we let them :) Rowan also "rebuilt" the wall while I sat and fed Boden, sticking little rocks in all the crevices of the stone wall.
Zoey and Boden had a little baby conversation.
I do enjoy that this island is full of easy little "field trips" like this one. I need to continue to explore because our time is quickly coming to an end. We'll be moving before we know it I'm sure! We finished the morning off with lunch at Burger King where Rowan had his first chicken nuggets and loved them :) haha.
