PCC

As mentioned previously, Grant had a lot of fun with his camera on this trip...here is a little more evidence. There were lizards in the yard all the time, but we spotted this unusually cool one this morning!
Thursday we had tickets for the Polynesian Cultural Center but since it doesn't open until the afternoon, we spent the morning at the beach behind our house.
There are plumeria trees EVERYWHERE, so we would always pick them up on our morning runs (ones that had freshly fallen) and today we used them for a photo shoot.
Waves in the summer are usually not great here, but we got lucky a few days and had some really amazing waves.  Here is a glimpse at what pipe might sort of look like (only 5x bigger). We stayed right on pipeline beach, so it was fun to think about the winter surf competitions that take place there.

After we had our fun at the beach, we showered and headed to Laie. We stopped by the temple to take some pictures before going to the PCC.
There were some missionaries who asked if we wanted to see the visitors center and a short video about Laie and the temple, school and PCC. We decided it would be a good introduction before we headed over to the PCC.
We didn't take very many pics at the PCC, but we had a good time.
My favorite little Samoan man still works there and we made it to most of the shows and learned a lot about Polynesian culture.

We enjoyed a huge buffet dinner and then enjoyed the amazing night show. I was quite disappointed that the pineapple delight is no longer served in a pineapple. I would have splurged for a $5 ice cream if it came in a pineapple, but a plastic bowl just isn't the same ;)
Yes, Grant does a much better tiki impression...not sure what I'm doing here :)
