Ubud

When we planned our Bali trip, I knew that we wanted to do a large portion of it just relaxing (which was why we went to Lovina), but I also knew that I really wanted to go to Ubud (the cultural capitol of the island). We checked out the art market where we perfected the art of bargaining and got some awesome deals.

Our first night in downtown we decided to eat at a place called Taco Casa. We looked at lots of Trip Advisor reviews for restaurants and this one sounded awesome. We had eaten a ton of Balinese food already on the trip so decided to mix it up with some Mexican. And...it did NOT disappoint. It was seriously delicious. Holly tried the avocado "juice" (Boden ended up drinking more than her :) and I was so impressed with the restaurant as they brought Boden a bowl of avocado for him to eat even though we hadn't ordered anything for him!
After dinner, we had about 30 minutes before our driver was picking us up, so we walked down the street and found some gelato. There was gelato everywhere in Bali. This place was really cute and had some random live music going on which made for a fun atmosphere.
Joey took to the mic for some reggae
Unfortunately, I was starting to not feel great by this point in the night, but not horrible yet either. Later that night is when I started to feel terrible! However, even after being super sick, 2 days later we got Taco Casa delivered because I loved it so much and still wanted to eat it after not eating anything at all for like 36 hours ;)
Here are a few other highlights from our walking around Ubud. It was a seriously cool city. SO many amazing looking restaurants (one reason I was really disappointed to have "Bali belly" for most of our time their), fun stores, unique architecture, etc. We had a great time there.
Playing back at the house!
There were a few things we planned doing that we didn't (mostly a few temples, and also Yoga Barn which I really wanted to do but decided I definitely didn't feel good enough for) because I was sick. However, everyday we all mentioned how awesome the trip was and that we could have been done at any point and been totally content with what we got to see and do.
